Back again not so long this time....well Mr Baggage man talks to the birds is finished .......He is taking a rest out of his long Journey!

I forgot to mention I have had a tree flurry , painting lots of different trees, big ones small ones, abstract in all ways  and playing with colours...... I think it was the lovely autumn we had last year, I took some pictures which you can see on my website, quite , quite lovely. Candy trees is the first painting here , on canvas textured paper , however I have just started a larger version on canvas.

The Jellybob site is almost ready , is the world ready for Jellybobs? We'll see............

Longer than I thought

Well time does go by , without even realising it ....Christmas came and went quietly and peacefully...January has led to a burst of creative energy ... The website has been running well , more additions are being planned but it is clear and simple enough to get about.
I have been developing the Jellybob website a bit of whimsy, a break from the sometimes harsh world of reality... I noticed I forgot to upload the picture of the Jellybob painting Haven. will do so now............... And there is Haven , protection from a cruel world.

As for my new paintings they are an explosive mix of colour which came about me one week after christmas, there is lots of metallic highlights threw them .
Here is "mountaineering " on 16 x 20 inch canvas textured paper. The paper is excellent quality and quite heavy, good for working out ideas for bigger canvas. I have been working on a range of fairy tale based abstract paintings the first is Sleeping Beauty but the canvas version will have quite a few changes .
This is titled Rescue of Beauty and is on sale at my website. The canvas version is work in progress.. another theme that is returning is my Mr Baggage man's journey , the original painting was sold last year but it was originally planned to be a series .... the first is shown below

I am nearly finished one of three , "Mr baggage man talks to the birds" will be uplaoded shortly and two smaller ones" Mr baggage man meets Rover"" and "Waiting on tea with the devil" all are on paper (16 x 20inch and two 16 x 12 inch) , mr Baggage man at moonlight will be a blue version of above on 36 x 24 inch canvas.......about to be started.... Some new Jellybobs are on their way to.

I won't leave it so long to update ......

www.clocktower-artworks.com is online

At last officially I am now online www.clocktower-artworks.com ........It appears to be working but hey it has only been five minutes. The penguin painting called arctic snowstorm has now moved to pastures anew. Another lovely person supporting the world of the self represented artist.

As ever I find that after producing frenetic textured abstracts in succession , I have had to turn my attention to a more gentle technique and have been painting some Jellybobs, smooth whimsical blending of softly layered colour. It may be that balance of drastic contrast that allows me to work in the way I do. Jellybob world has been a bit of a passion of mine for many years and soon they will have their own web site.

well I will update a little more tomorrow , Jeanne

Abstract art painting in process

well I'm back again, "Eectricity" turned into "Memories of Venice" a hazy watery reflection of arched bridges, rivers, Gondolas ,flags, and people milling about. Reflective iridescent blue red and gold highlights give this painting a far deeper colour than can be seen from a photograph. Funny how things never quite turn out as they start.

The second painting below has not changed that much , more layers of clours and iridescent highlights built over texture. There are also gold highlights small kids are blurred together , as they run up and down slides and ladders, balance on monkey bars, and play in the water pools. A nostaligic glimpse of a childhood memory.

Some more new ones coming uo tomorrow. At the momment I am working on a painting to submit to the Sue Ryder Art for Liberation competition link here
http://www.suerydercare.org/news.php/188/final_call_for_artists_to_get_creative_for_sue_ryder_cares_art_liberating_lives

An artshow for a very good cause. Will post it up Mon , that's when it will need to be finished, it is a little bit of a departure from the pure abstract expressionist stuff , still abstract and a bit of a favourite of mine.

Abstract art in the making

This is "Electricity" a mixture of blues, yellow, white. Unfortunately I ran out of white so this is on hold till my paint delivery comes. The idea is to create a neon light scene , as if looking at a cityscape in the dark, with twinkling lights..... well that is the plan but who knows when I get started.
This is another one of my new paintings "Playground" full of slides, waterpools , climbing frames. Not quite finished yet. This week I have had a dreadful cold , so i have not been able to paint much just curl up on my settee with a quilt feeling sorry for myself!!!!
Hopefully i will be back on track in the next week or so.

Three paintings sold , wheeeeeeeeee

It has been a good week for the first foray into the art market with my new paintings. I am absolutely over the moon people liked these paintings enough to buy them, thank you. Of course now I have to paint more.....I have been working on some smaller ones, with a smaller price tag exclusive to my Etsy shop - clocktowerartwork.etsy.com , they should be uploaded tomorrow.

My grandparents ,who lived in France for 25 years recently passed away and this has got me thinking about painting some memories of life France, Mediterranean echoes of sand , sea, olive trees and vineyards, but I'll see , I can never predict exactly how they will turn out. I definitely am going to do a night time traffic scene, with lots of bright, primary colours. As I begin my new paintings I will post up pictures as they develop.....

My new artportfolio at artflock.com (www.artflock.com/artist/clocktowerartworks) will be up and running ,hopefully by the end of the day.

Penguin snowstorm finished at last!

There , actually finished this painting now, complete with snow splatters. It seems I have put the penguins in a bit of a predicament, snow storms, wind, breaking ice....there is even a couple of whales , do whales eat penguins?? Probably not , too feathery!!!

Anyhow the next painting to be finished was firefly, from a distance it looks abstract orange, yellow, blue fused together. On closer look it appears to be full of angels, or maybe fairy fireflies......
Now will be starting some new paintings, I have sold two in the last week, feeling quite pleased ... only the first week of showing will display them tomorrow. I forgot to say please excuse any spelling mistakes, I am dyslexic , I do my best not too but when I get tired mistakes happen. Jeanne
